New Service for Private Landlords & Tenants By now if you are a private landlord you will be aware that as part of the Government’s drive to make tenant’s responsible for their own financial affairs the tenant will receive the Local Housing Allowance (L.H.A.) and you are dependant on them using it to pay your rent. Members of Castle & Minster Credit Union live or work in Kirklees. This is known as the Common Bond. The members save regularly and create a fund to make loans to each other. The Credit Union offers a basic financial service to anyone living in Kirklees. Currently over 6,000 members make use of our services and that number is growing every day. Castle & Minster is a member owned organisation, the surplus income generated from loans is returned to the members as a dividend on their savings. People from the Muslim community choose how to deal with the dividend in accordance with their faith. Also available to the residents of Kirklees (under 16 years of age) is the thriving Junior Account known as Honey Money Savers. Currently we have over 700 junior members.
